Smartronix Awarded Information Technology Support Contract for 53rd Wing Network Operations Center

California, Maryland - 01 August 2006 - Smartronix has expanded its presence in Okinawa, Japan, by being awarded two different contracts in support of the Marine Corps Base Japan (MCBJ) and Third Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF). Both projects involve the development and deployment of collaborative systems based on Microsoft's SharePoint portal environment. For MCBJ, Smartronix is developing a Battle Command Display (BCD) that provides MCBJ with the ability to monitor status and mission capability for all camps and facilities on the Island of Okinawa as well as Camp Fuji and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni on mainland Japan. For III MEF, Smartronix is developing a Collaborative Information Environment (CIE) that will provide a SharePoint portal as a planning, scheduling, and information management resource.
