DSID - Deployable Security Interdiction Device
Smartronix has developed a complete enterprise security solution that provides companies or agencies with network security, connectivity, and portability needed where normal facility conditions are not an option. When a remote network is needed in a distant location or in an unexpected situation, such as a corporate conference, a makeshift emergency center, or even in the back of a Humvee, concerns will arise as to what type of equipment, services, racks, and configuration can and should be used. The rugged Smartronix DSID is your ready-made solution.

In the DSID firewall design, the main point of network traffic control is the dual-homed gateway known as the bastion host. Unlike routers, this host does not merely forward packets from one network to another, but it runs simplified versions of application protocols from which well-known vulnerabilities have been eliminated with extensive logging capabilities.

Customized Options Available
  • Heavy Duty mobile cases, airtight with breather valve and free standing.
  • Variations to accommodate US forces in European theatre, e.g. E1 and power.
  • Screening router helps to protect the bastion host from being overwhelmed by packets that the host would
         ultimately discard anyway.
  • Communications between communities of interest (COI) can be tunneled through a VPN, allowing secure data
         exchange between coordinated parties.
  • POP router acts as the peering point for the trusted network, and can host many diverse internal segments.
  • The DSID contains a spare server which can be used as a hot spare for a hardware failure of either the
         firewall or the IDS, or even a web server.
  • There are no physical paths around the enforcement point in this firewall design except for the VPN, and
         it only accepts external connections from other trusted VPNs.
  • A Service Network, or DMZ within the DSID, hosts publicly accessible servers such as the units web server.
         Since web servers are prone to be attacked and are commonly compromised, the service network is the safest
         place for them to reside.
